If you need to partially conceal your cameras from view, wireless security cameras are the way to go. Locations such as banks use a combination of wireless and wired, visible and hidden cameras to intimidate potential robbers, but continue photographing them even if they disable the wired cameras.

Las Vegas casinos do the same. Look around you the next time you enter a casino or a bank. That is, they are there to intimidate a potential robber or petty thief from doing anything, knowing that their actions are being recorded. The owners of these establishments want you to see these cameras and they want you to think twice about doing anything naughty in their places of business.

Then there are the hidden cameras. Almost always wireless so they can be placed anywhere, they photograph through small holes in the walls or ceilings, or from behind specially designed ordinary devices you’re expect to find in the location. Wireless security cameras are the ones that provide information to the police about who may have committed some crime after they disabled the visible systems.

Lately, these cameras have been built into clocks, children’s toys and other common household devices. They came into more popular use to catch babysitters and nanny’s who watch over precious youngsters who may not be talking yet. Horrible abuse sometimes occurs when unbalanced adults are left in charge of toddlers who can't speak.

Concerned parents started using these devices to record the actions of the adult in charge while they were gone. Then the couple could play back the tapes and see what went on in their absence. Some of these tapes were so outrageously awful in what they captured on videotape that they led to prosecution of the adult offender and oftentimes ended up on national tabloid TV shows. Since then they have become a built-in, cleverly concealed device that's quite often found in homes where young children are being watched by hired help.

There are some people who would prefer being robbed twice rather than having everything they have being razed to the ground by fire. What if you were to have the options between theft and fire? Which one would you go for? You would most probably opt for the first one.

Fortunately, you are able to protect your possessions and belongings at home from thefts and break-ins using numerous systems thanks to the increased innovations in technology. All this is due to the accessibility of advanced home alarm system.

The continuous innovation in technology have helped improve the home alarm systems to include extra features and even made the system in both wired and wireless connection. Nowadays, home alarm systems are available in either wireless or central. Some are even a bit ‘intelligent’ as they are attached to communication devices such that when there is a break in; it dials the local police who will in turn respond accordingly.

The most important thing is to know what type of security system you need. One thing that should not be of big concern is the cost as these alarm systems are quite affordable. And the inexpensive price of these home alarm systems does not indicate that they are not included with any special features. It is known that even the basic alarm systems have improved with advancements in technology.

One thing that is hard to do is to know the first one to set up in one’s house. It is better to try using contact alarms at first. These are the type of home alarm system that are put on doors or windows and usually set off as one tries to enter the house through the windows or doors without the owner’s knowledge. Some of these types of alarms set off a loud siren so as to scare off the thief; others will alert you immediately or may even send a message to a central monitoring system.

Apart from this alarm system, there is one, which is usually installed by home security companies. It comes with a control panel with a keypad that the security companies will help installed into your home. And there are also ones that could detect movements. This type of alarms comes with motion detectors programmed to set off the siren when even a slight movement is detected. Some alarms are also designed for people with hearing problems.

There are many options available for home security. All one has to do is to look for the best one that fits their expectations.

I have been asked time and time again as to whether or not Brinks Home Security is to be trusted, liked, or even used at all.  Well, I usually give an answer that is something along the lines of “yeah, I’d use them”, but I never really had solid reasons for my trust.  So, I decided to sit down and think about it to come up with 5 good reasons why I like Brinks Home Security.

1) Experience

They have over 30 years of experience in the Home Security business!  Since home security is completely dependant on the safety aspect, experience is absolutely key.  They have had the time to learn what can go wrong, and how to avoid problems.  As a result, they simply do not make mistakes any more.  A new, inexperienced company, on the other hand, is much more likely to make a mistake that could cost you your safety.  Your safety is just too valuable to risk it.

2) Service

They have true 24 hour service all around!  24 hour monitoring is a given, but Brinks also has a 24 hour support calling service!  Which means that, even at 3:30 am, they will help me fix my system, or even come out to fix it if necessary.  They make their customers THE top priority, even over sleep!

3) Awards

Remember all that stuff about the service stuff that you just read?  Well, that service has managed to win more than half a dozen awards!  J.D. Powers and Associates have seen fit to declare that Brinks Home Security has “An Outstanding Customer Service Experience” for an impressive six years back-to-back.  On top of that, Consumer Digest said that the Brinks Home Security standard security system is a “Best Buy”!  Awards are certainly some strong evidence.

4) Ease of Use

The keypad is incredibly simple and easy.  It’s easy to turn off when you need to, and it’s even easier to turn on.  On top of that, there are emergency buttons built into the pad that will activate the alarm and contact the monitoring personnel immediately if I’m ever in any danger while I’m at home.  Safety is the key here, and Brinks Home Security provides it in spades!

5) Professional

Their entire staff is very professional.  They are all Brinks employees who work in the US, instead of outsourced foreign workers in India who are so hard to understand that they could be completely useless in an emergency.  Which, of course, is when it is absolutely necessary that you can understand the person on the other side of the phone.  Brinks employees have several requirements, including but not limited to the proper licensing, passing background checks, and passing drug testing; all for the purpose of insuring your safety.

Those are more than enough reasons for me to choose Brinks Home Security.  However, the choice is still yours.  Go with Brinks, or just “some other guy”?
