Burglars and intruders want to have an easy entry and exit, and dogs can foil all of that. An intruder also doesn’t like to have attention brought to what they are doing by a dog’s loud, incessant barking. And if the dog is big enough, they certainly don’t want to get bitten. So a well-trained dog can be a real ally in protecting your home.

Having a home security system that is monitored by an outside service is another great idea. But it’s even better to take it one step further and make sure that you have a backup power supply for the alarm, so if the electricity is cut off for any reason you can still activate the alarm and get law enforcement to your door quickly.
