Wireless Home Security Has Many Advantages

Some of the likely things that come to mind when you think about home security are burglar alarms that detect the opening of a window or door, or maybe panic buttons or smoke detectors or a home security safe. Your protected against something that happens by having an alarm go off for you and your neighbors to hear or a signal is sent by the alarm to the site of an alarm management company.

To find out if you’re okay either the police or a paid security force calls you or shows up at your place of residence. That’s it. But is that enough? Today’s technology has advanced far beyond that scenario. If the old ways are not good enough for you, take a look at the advantages of wireless home security.

Much More Than No Wires

A wireless home security system isn’t just the old alarms without wires. The computer network that connects all of the wireless elements is capable of so much more sophisticated programming. For instance, what would you do if you could choose to have your house dial your cell phone instead of sounding an alarm when you’re not home? What if it could text a message?

How about if the burglar alarm system included the smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, motion detectors and temperature sensors? Whenever any problem that you want to know about happens, you get contacted. If there’s no answer, the next number on the list is dialed. Wireless security lights can be activated by timers or motion, either or both. The same goes for wireless home security cameras, which can be set to record images or send them to whichever TV you select by remote control - even your handheld device. The wireless home security system is a very capable device.

So intruders and fire aren’t the only problems a home security device can help you guard against. Motion detectors can be set to let you know when the dog is on the couch. Temperature sensors can inform you if the greenhouse kits too cold or the wine cellar becomes too warm. If you have an older family member, or maybe a child that might be homesick or anyone at home for that matter you can have a panic button for any of them to use that will sound the alarm for any reason.

Depending on how you have your security system set up, a notification will go out to you, emergency personnel or an alarm monitoring company. Some wireless home security systems even give you the option to talk to whoever is calling for help or even to an intruder by using a speakerphone. What a novel idea some would say to have this ability. You can even tell your dog to get off the couch when it’s not supposed to be on it. What’s great about these wireless home security systems is that you can reprogram them at any point in time for changing circumstances.
